Teena Mitchell appointed NAPT acting president-elect

NAPT Region 2 Director Teena Mitchell, CDPT, CSNT, coordinator of special needs transportation for the Greenville County (South Carolina) Schools, will serve for the next 11 months as NAPT’s acting President-elect. Mitchell was appointed by her peers on the NAPT Board to fill a vacancy.

“I am honored my colleagues on the Board have chosen me to serve in the important position and I am looking forward to working with them to accomplish our mutual goals,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell, who joined the NAPT Board in 2018, is NAPT Certified in Special Needs Transportation (CSNT) and is also a Certified Director of Pupil Transportation (CDPT), a Certified Supervisor of Pupil Transportation (CSPT) and received NAPT’s Special Needs Transportation Award in 2017. She has completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Child Passenger Safety Technician Training and is also a black belt in Lean Six Sigma (LSS).

The NAPT Board is planning to conduct an election in the next few weeks to fill the Region 2 vacancy created by Mitchell’s appointment to her new position. Additional information will be provided in the future via School BUSRide magazine and email updates to members.
