September has arrived, and schools are finally in session across America and Canada! Our year has officially begun, and every day, thousands of children are being transported safely. It is not an exaggeration to say that I love this industry and the people who make it all happen!
This issue of School BUSRide is another great one! It is filled with articles and information that will not only help with your day-to-day work but also prepare you for the upcoming year. Don’t forget to read about our members, our industry and our future.
Speaking of the future, I am always excited about tomorrow! Since I was a child, the promises and possibilities of the future have captured my attention. I love thinking, planning and anticipating what is coming! Despite some of the things happening in our world, I choose to focus on the positive and the good. I love that my work allows me to collaborate with positive, dedicated and forward-thinking people!
Challenges are real. Costs are rising, diesel prices are increasing, replacement vehicles are expensive, and we do not have enough drivers. None of these issues are particularly new; some are politically motivated, while others are not. Problems and challenges are simply a part of life. The great thing about the leaders in pupil transportation is that you are more than capable of handling these situations! That is amazing!
