Schools across the country are officially underway now! The 2025-2026 school year is off to a fast start! Schools nationwide are officially back in session! The 2025-2026 academic year has kicked off at a rapid pace. Transportation professionals are incorporating extracurricular activities and field trips into their schedules and routes. We are currently in sports season, with band competitions and a variety of student activities taking place! It’s important to remember that special education transportation still demands our focus, and our efforts are both ongoing and complex!
One of the benefits of working in schools will always be the children we serve. Children love seasons and holidays. October brings Harvest and Halloween parades along with Homecoming events and football! In our industry, we get to celebrate along with our passengers! During my days in a classroom and as an administrator, I admit I loved this part of my work! Yes, it brought discipline challenges or issues- but it also brought joy!
Working in schools is truly a privilege. We have the incredible opportunity to contribute to the education of both current and future generations. What we do truly matters. Missing school or events can hinder a child’s education, and every day, we safely transport thousands of children to and from school and activities. You play a crucial role in this process. Your hard work makes a significant difference! Congratulations! Your service positively impacts our world in a meaningful way!
So, this month, take a moment to appreciate all that you and your transportation team accomplish! Celebrate your safety record! Honor the colleagues who work alongside you! Recognize your own exceptional contributions! It’s important to take pride in our work, our teams, and our achievements!
