How important is your career?
Interesting question, as you read it, you may wonder why I would ask that question and what it has to do with you and your future! In my estimation, it has everything to do with your future and your career success!
Today, merely showing up and completing your tasks is insufficient. Your time is in high demand, and your responsibilities within the organization are extensive. It’s essential to grasp all the factors influencing your employees, fleet, and district, along with the requirements set by regulators and emerging issues.
Your role encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, including:
• Communicating internally and engaging with parents and the community
• Navigating advancements in AI and new technologies
• Monitoring budgets, policies, and procedures
This complexity and demand require not only the ability to manage daily operations but also the foresight to anticipate and address issues as they arise.
How do you do it? How do you do it so that you thrive and have success in your career? How do you manage all the meetings and issues that need your immediate attention? Heck, how do you have time and mental capacity for your family and your personal life?
I believe that establishing priorities and committing to continuing education are essential.
• Priorities should emphasize your health, wellness, and family life.
• Continuing education keeps you well-informed and helps you discover new and improved methods to perform your tasks with elegance and professionalism.
This ongoing education can come from various sources, including:
• State meetings
• Professional certifications
• Your eagerness to learn
