Ronna Weber, new executive director of NASDPTS.

The National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS) set out last month to fill the position of executive director after Charlie Hood stated he would be retiring at the end of March. The NASDPTS Board then put together a Selection Committee made up of NASDPTS members.

After a thorough and detailed process of reviewing potential candidates’ proposals, holding interviews and a final decision by the Board of Directors, NASDPTS announced that its next executive director is Ronna Weber. Many NASDPTS members are familiar with Weber while she was the executive director of National School Transportation Association (NSTA), as a speaker and attendee at a multitude of its NASDPTS Annual Conferences and as a speaker at several of its SNAC members’ Annual Conferences.

Weber has specialized in school transportation regulatory and legislative policy during her 25+ years in our industry, and she is poised take our association forward in its mission, “to provide leadership, assistance and motivation to the Nation’s school transportation community with the goal of providing safe, secure, efficient, economical, and high-quality transportation to school children on their trips to and from school and school-related activities”.

Weber’s first day was March 1st. In order to ensure transparency and a smooth transition, she worked with Hood throughout February to familiarize herself with the inner workings of the association.
