NAPT seeks new Executive Director

The National Association for Pupil Transportation and the NAPT Foundation have embarked on a nationwide search for an Executive Director who will succeed Michael (Mike) Martin, who led the organizations for some 27 years, and stepped down to pursue other professional activities especially in collaboration with NAPT. (see May 23 2022 Dispatch).

This search for an Executive Director marks a change of direction from that May 23rd notice.  The Boards have determined that employing an executive director would better serve the mission and strategic plan for the association and the foundation.  The Boards anticipate completion of the recruitment, interview and hiring process by mid-September 2022.

“This search process requires a lot of teamwork by the Directors of the association to ensure that we are staying consistent with the mission and vision of our organization. We are committed to the success of the school transportation profession and are looking for a leader who fully embodies the passion that it will take to support our members, staff, and Board of Directors. In his years of experience, Mike Martin was a unique leader who took NAPT to new heights and for that we are grateful.  Now our attention turns to what NAPT is capable of in the future,” noted NAPT President Rick Grisham.

NAPT Foundation President, Steve Kalmes, said that “the Foundation is eager to take the next steps that will build upon the solid groundwork that has been put into place over Mike’s tenure. We are committed to working with NAPT and our industry partners to advance and enrich those who ensure the safety of America’s children.”
