The NAPT Foundation has announced the appointment of two respected student transportation leaders to its Board of Directors: Alex Robinson, M.Ed., CDPT, of Chula Vista, California, and Frank Marasco, CDPT, of British Columbia, Canada.

Both Robinson and Marasco bring decades of leadership experience, industry expertise, and a longstanding commitment to advancing student transportation through professional development, safety initiatives, and organizational leadership.
The NAPT Foundation serves as the educational and charitable arm of the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT), supporting programs and initiatives that promote leadership development, training, research, and professional growth throughout the student transportation industry.
Robinson joins the Foundation Board following a distinguished career in student transportation and educational leadership. She currently serves as president of A. Robinson Consulting and has been actively involved with NAPT for more than three decades. Throughout her career, Robinson has contributed to numerous industry initiatives, professional development programs, and leadership efforts that have helped shape student transportation practices across North America.

Reflecting on her appointment, Robinson noted the long history she shares with both NAPT and the Foundation.
“When my daughter was 4, I had just started taking on more Board leadership roles with NAPT and that was the year (1999) that the NAPT Foundation was formed,” she said. “It was such an exciting time as we brainstormed all the possibilities that an additional educational branch of our organization could bring. A lot has developed in our industry since then, (my 4-year-old is now 30!) but our need for ongoing, consistent, and high-quality professional development has not changed. I’m honored to be selected to join this esteemed group, and eager to continue to help ensure the school bus remains an important extension of the classroom.”
Robinson’s appointment further strengthens the Foundation’s commitment to supporting education and leadership opportunities for transportation professionals while helping districts meet the evolving needs of students and communities.
Marasco also brings extensive industry experience to the Foundation Board. As president and CEO of Advanced Student Transportation Solutions & Business Consulting, he has spent more than 30 years serving the student transportation profession in operational, consulting, and leadership roles. A recognized advocate for safety, professional development, and industry advancement, Marasco has worked with transportation organizations throughout Canada and the United States to promote best practices and operational excellence.
He said his appointment reflects a desire to continue giving back to an industry that has shaped his professional career.
“My appointment to the NAPT Foundation Board is both a privilege and an opportunity to give back to a profession that has been central to my career for more than three decades,” he said. “NAPT has been instrumental in promoting leadership, education, and safety across the student transportation industry, and I am proud to help support those efforts through the Foundation. I look forward to working alongside fellow board members to expand opportunities for current and future transportation professionals while continuing to enhance the safe transportation of students.”
“Anyone who has worked with Alex or Frank knows they are incredibly thoughtful leaders who bring both deep expertise and a genuine commitment to helping others grow,” said NAPT Executive Director and CEO Molly McGee-Hewitt. “They have each dedicated their careers to advancing student transportation, sharing their knowledge generously, and making our profession stronger along the way. I am excited to welcome them to the Foundation Board and know their experience, perspective, and leadership will be invaluable as we continue building opportunities for the next generation of transportation professionals.”
With Robinson and Marasco joining the Board of Directors, the Foundation gains two accomplished professionals whose careers have been defined by service, innovation, and a commitment to excellence in student transportation. Their combined experience and passion for professional growth will help support the Foundation’s mission of advancing education, leadership, and safety for transportation professionals across North America.
As the Foundation continues to invest in the future of student transportation, these appointments reflect its ongoing commitment to fostering leadership and providing meaningful educational opportunities that benefit transportation professionals, school districts, and the students they serve.
