In this fourth installment of NAPT: On the Road, we continue highlighting the National Association for Pupil Transportation’s cross-country engagement with state associations and industry leaders throughout the summer. This month, Executive Director and CEO Dr. Molly McGee-Hewitt and key members of the NAPT team brought energy, insight, and encouragement to conferences from Florida to Washington.
We begin in Daytona Beach, where the Florida Association for Pupil Transportation (FAPT) hosted its annual conference from June 15–19. Alex Spann and Launi Harding taught NAPT Professional Development Series (PDS) courses, with Teena Mitchell also attending. The FAPT crowd benefited from hands-on learning and practical takeaways.
Next, Texas took the spotlight at the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) conference, June 20–24. Molly presented her keynote, The E-Factor: The Power of Encouragement, and exhibited throughout the event alongside Peter Hewitt.

In Indiana, the School Transportation Association of Indiana (STAI) welcomed both Molly and Teena from June 20–25. Teena led an in-depth session titled Optimizing School Bus Routing Using Software and GPS Technology, with images capturing her presentation in action.
Meanwhile, in Michigan, the Michigan Association for Pupil Transportation (MAPT) hosted its annual event from June 23–26. Our friends from OAPT—Todd Silverthorn and Mike Miller—stepped in to deliver an NAPT Update, underscoring the strong ties between state and national leadership.
Finally, we wrap up in Spokane, WA, where the Washington Pupil Transportation Association (WAPT) event (June 29–July 2) featured Molly delivering an NAPT update and networking alongside leaders Dawnett Wright and Catherine Bowman.
Each stop showcases NAPT’s commitment to education, empowerment, and connection. See you on the next leg of the journey!
